Blennerville Windmill
Come to Blennerville Windmill the largest and most southerly working windmill in Ireland. Blennerville Windmill stands out as a landmark in Tralee Bay and inside the children can learn how millers crush grain to make flour over 200 years ago. Children can gain first hand experience of grinding their own wheat into flour by using the “Hand Kuerns”, while also learning how the wind power is harnessed to grind the grain. Once there is wind the magnificent sails will be turning.
Learn all about the famine & understand how locals were forced to immigrate on board the famous Jeannie Johnston through the audio-visual presentation and famine exhibition gallery.
Children are sure to love the Tralee Dingle model railway. With our interactive train sets to our model of the old Tralee to Dingle railway, it will be a sure hit with young and old.
Complete your trip by visiting the special bird-watching platform & enjoy the panoramic views of Tralee Bay.
