Bone Investigators

BONE INVESTIGATORS is the latest interactive attraction in our museum. Pupils can dig up a skeleton and other exciting replica objects in a HANDS-ON ARCHAEOLOGY WORKSHOP.

Dressed up in high-vis vests and equipped with kneeling pads, trowels and brushes the group discovers how and why archaeologists EXCAVATE and what we can learn from their finds.

After the SKELETON DIG, pupils investigate a MEDIEVAL MURDER based on the exciting but gruesome find of a skeleton displaying hack marks caused by medieval weapons! Can the bones reveal how the murder victim died and what WEAPONS were used?

Don’t forget to bring a camera as this is a perfect picture opportunity!

Duration: 45 minutes

Numbers: maximum of 16 pupils per workshop (Larger groups can be split and we recommend combining dig workshops with visiting the Medieval Experience)
